Enrolments

If your child, or a child you are the guardian for, has a diagnosis that meets eligibility criteria (see below) and you wish to enrol at WCSESC, please submit an email enquiry through the “Contact Us” tab on the website or email us on WestCoast.SESC@education.wa.edu.au

Please include their name, disability diagnosis and the name of the school they are currently enrolled in.

Eligibility criteria

  •          evidence that intellectual disability, physical disability, or autism diagnosis demonstrates eligibility for an individual disability allocation;
  •          the disability and any co-existing conditions result in substantially reduced functional capacity to learn and this is expected to be life-long; and
  •         a substantial or extensive level of adjustment is required to provide an appropriate education program.

Please note - ADHD, language delays/ disorders WITHOUT an accompanying ASD, sensory, ID or physical disability diagnosis do not meet criteria for enrolment in an education support program. Support can be provided instead at your local mainstream school.

Once your enquiry has been received, you will be sent an acknowledgement.

Once eligibility has been determined, the following steps are involved:

Parents/Guardians will:

  •         Attend a group tour.
  •         Dates for 2025 are: 11 March 9.30am; 31 March 9.30am; 19 May 9.30am and 10 June 9.30am.
  •         Places on the tours are limited and need to be reserved. To book a place on a tour please phone 9345 6600.
  •          After the tour, parent/guardian to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) if they wish to progress an enrolment application.

Once an EOI has been received, a staff member from WCSESC will:

  •         Visit the primary school to do observations and collect data to determine suitability of the program at WCSESC for the student;
  •         The closing date for EOI applications is 25 July 2025
  •          After this date, EOI applications will be processed, and parents /guardians will be notified if a placement can be offered.
  •         Parents/ guardians will then be given an enrolment package to complete and return to WCSESC if they wish to proceed with an enrolment.  These should be returned promptly to ensure a place is reserved.

Acceptance of an enrolment is dependent on WCSESC capacity. If the centre is at full capacity, then students will have to apply to another education support facility or enrol at their local mainstream school.

Please notewe do not have a waitlist and can only process EOI applications for year 6 students after the closing date (25 July 2025).   For other year levels, please submit an email enquiry, stating year the student is in and the school they currently attend.
